About

Hello! I’m Hanne. I am a wife and mother and friend.

I was born and raised in Denmark, where my parents served as leaders of a children’s ministry organization. While I was in high school, I realized that I wanted to pursue a life of ministry as well. At age 18, I moved to the United States so that I could attend a Christian college in Minnesota. It was there that I began working with youth living in high-risk homes and communities.

During those years I also met my husband Scott. We married in 1987 and moved to Massachusetts where we founded Straight Ahead Ministries, a nationwide ministry to justice-involved youth.

In 1990 we opened a home for boys transitioning out of lock-up and lived there for almost 10 years. Our children were born during those years. When they were young we moved out of that home, but have continued to expand and direct the ministry in other ways.

Today, our children are grown and living full and wonderful lives. Scott and I live in Worcester, Massachusetts, where I spend most of my time enjoying relationships. There’s nothing I love more than sharing a good cup of coffee and heart-to-heart conversation.
